“Pinkie” Limousine of Limo Lady on the road to fight cancer
You will definitely not miss this stretch limousine on the road. It is pink. With matching long eye lashes on its headlamps. Joanna Fridinger of Maryland shares, the pink limo ride is fueled by tears and cheers.
Fridinger who manages The Limo Lady service. She is amuse by how the pink limousine catches people’s attention and how it gets people to smile. She also uses the limousine to battle cancer, in honor of Janice Horner, her older sister, who succumbed to the disease a few years back.
The pink limousines has been rented for a lot of occasions like weddings, parties, proms, and other parties.
When you rent the pink limo, 10% of the proceeds is donated to the St. Joseph Medical Center, particularly to its Cancer Institute. This week, she is teaming up with a local bistro to do a fund raiser that will also benefit the same institute.
Fridinger worked as a teacher for fourteen years before deciding to do part time work for a limo service. The busy woman had a difficult time going home early for her family because of the demands of her work as an educator.
On her way to her first limo service job interview, Fridinger got lost but she was hired anyway. Struggling with directions as a limo driver, her husband would go home every night from work and take her thru the usual routes in the area. They also bought every map she will most likely be needing.
When things got a bit too much at that limo service (Fridinger who works as a driver, had to answer phone calls, and also do administrative work) she left and decided to start her own.
The family sold the old van and bought a used Lincoln. After a few months, they took out a loan to buy a stretch limo and later on added more units to the fleet as the business grew.
There we just shared the story of how the Pink Limo of The Limo Lady came about. Of tears and laughter. Of rides and fight against cancer.
