“Pinkie” Limousine of Limo Lady on the road to fight cancer

Limousine service owner uses pink limo to fuel cancer donationsYou will definitely not miss this stretch limousine on the road. It is pink. With matching long eye lashes on its headlamps. Joanna Fridinger of Maryland shares, the pink limo ride is fueled by tears and cheers.

Fridinger who manages The Limo Lady service. She is amuse by how the pink limousine catches people’s attention and how it gets people to smile. She also uses the limousine to battle cancer, in honor of Janice Horner, her older sister, who succumbed to the disease a few years back.

The pink limousines has been rented for a lot of occasions like weddings, parties, proms, and other parties.

When you rent the pink limo, 10% of the proceeds is donated to the St. Joseph Medical Center, particularly to its Cancer Institute. This week, she is teaming up with a local bistro to do a fund raiser that will also benefit the same institute.

Fridinger worked as a teacher for fourteen years before deciding to do part time work for a limo service. The busy woman had a difficult time going home early for her family because of the demands of her work as an educator.

On her way to her first limo service job interview, Fridinger got lost but she was hired anyway. Struggling with directions as a limo driver, her husband would go home every night from work and take her thru the usual routes in the area. They also bought every map she will most likely be needing.

When things got a bit too much at that limo service (Fridinger who works as a driver, had to answer phone calls, and also do administrative work) she left and decided to start her own.

The family sold the old van and bought a used Lincoln. After a few months, they took out a loan to buy a stretch limo and later on added more units to the fleet as the business grew.

There we just shared the story of how the Pink Limo of The Limo Lady came about. Of tears and laughter. Of rides and fight against cancer.

Nissan Leaf to be transformed into a limousine by Imperial Coach Builders

Missouri-based Imperial Coach Builders recently announced that they will fashion a limousine out of the Nissan LEAF. This conversion of the LEAF is aimed at celebrities who really want to represent their green lifestyle.

ICB is planning to give the Nissan LEAF an additional 48 inches when they convert the green car into a green limousine. This job will not be an easy task since most of the electric equipment and battery system of the car are scattered on its body. Good thing though is that ICB is under the umbrella of the Electric Car Company Incorporated so availability of needed technology will not be an issue.

When the ICB completes the limo conversion, the Nissan LEAF will have additional space for more passengers at the back. The car builder has not yet released details of the layout but everyone is assuming that the rear seats will be facing each other.

The conversion of the Nissan Leaf will be the first for the electric car and of course it will also be producing the first true electric limousine.

There are questions in the air though for this conversion. First will be the extra length and how it will affect the performance of the electric car. Another possible issue will be the additional weight the will be put into the car and how it will affect the range of the LEAF now pegged at 100 miles.

The 2012 LEAF has a 107 horsepower electric motor that depends on lithium ion batteries. A fully charged Nissan LEAF can go as far as 100 miles and can reach 90 mph as its top speed. The tag price for the 2012 LEAF starts at $35,200.

John Lennon’s Rolls Royce limo visits Royal BC Museum

The psychedelic limo that once belonged to music legend John Lennon and once perceived as offensive to England was recently on display at the Royal BC Museum. The museum in Victoria acquired the item back in 1987 and puts it on display once in a while.

The Rolls Royce Phantom V of John Lennon was a  bit to huge for the doors of the museum so the front doors of the building had to be removed first before it can get the limousine inside. The Beatles icon bought the Rolls Royce in stock black finish in 1965 when he got his driver’s license.

The Phantom V was then custom made to include a rear seat which can be converted into a double bed, a portable refrigerator, a television, a telephone, and a really nice sound system.

In 1967, the paint job and the exterior were remade. The custom painting was done by a gypsy artist who was a close friend of John Lennon. House paint was used to make the flower designs plus the vines and spirals of the wheel cover.

The car was rarely used by John Lennon and wife Yoko Ono even when it was shipped to the United States. The limousine was often lent to famous music icons for special occasions. Some of the names who rolled in the psychedelic Lennon limo were the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, and Moody Blues.

The limousine was bartered by the couple to fix a huge tax problem back in 1977. It was later donated to a museum in New York City for a tax credit of $225,000.

It was auctioned in 1985 by the Sotheby’s where Jimmy Pattison, a B.C. millionaire acquired it for $2.3 million.  The owner later donated the car to the museum after being displayed in the 1986 international expo in Vancouver.

Hummer Limo treat for the bright kids in Michigan

It was a pretty tough choice for five bright honor students from Village Oaks Elementary School in Michigan—two hours free time from school, dine at McDonald’s, and a stretched limousine for a ride.

The whiz kids were treated by the faculty of the school with a chauffeured limo tour of Immokalee when they topped the standardized test for the county and the state which measured math, reading, and writing.

This Hummer limousine can accommodate about 25 people. The limo also features mirrored ceilings with scattered starlights, flat screen TVs with DVD, a bar area, VIP seating area, and other pretty bad luxury stuff.

Check Out The Inside Of This Limo!

Because it does not look good!  Whoever thought that yellow with grey looked good was on some serious drugs.  Not only does it not look good but what is up with all of those seats?  How many does this limousine fit?  It has to be a stretch.

This is actually a limousine motorcycle and that is just not the way that I want to ride.  First off, where exactly would you drive this thing to and just how many people does it actually fit?  Twelve?  It looks that way.

Would you really want the person driving to have the weight of twelve people there?  Come on – this is a bad idea people.
